Privacy Policy for SpaceFighter

This privacy policy explains what information the SpaceFighter app (“the app”, “we”, “us”) collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

Who we are

What we collect

When you use the app, we collect the following:

• A device identifier — a hashed ID generated on your device. It does not contain your name, email, or any directly identifying information.
• A self-chosen display name — only if you set one in the app’s settings to appear on leaderboards. You can leave this blank, change it, or clear it at any time from the app’s settings screen.
• App usage events — when the app is opened, when a game mode is started, when a run ends (including score and duration), and when a score is submitted to the leaderboard.
• Timestamps for each of the above events.

We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or health data.

If you purchase Premium, your email address is processed by Stripe (payment) and Resend (license-key delivery) solely to send you the license key. We do not store your email address on our servers.

Why we collect it

This information is used to:

• Understand how the app is used so we can fix bugs and improve gameplay.
• Display competition scores and rankings on the leaderboard.
• Measure aggregate metrics such as daily active users and run completion rates.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Where it is stored

Gameplay and leaderboard data is stored on servers operated by Supabase, located in the EU. Access is restricted to the app developer.

Payment data is processed by Stripe and is subject to Stripe’s privacy policy (https://stripe.com/privacy). License-key delivery emails are sent via Resend and are subject to Resend’s privacy policy (https://resend.com/legal/privacy-policy).

How long we keep it

Usage event data is retained for up to 24 months, after which it is deleted or fully anonymised. Leaderboard entries are retained while the leaderboard for that mode is active.

Third parties

We share data with the following service providers strictly for the purposes above:

• Supabase — database hosting (gameplay events, leaderboard)
• Grafana — data visualisation (aggregate metrics, developer-only access)
• Stripe — payment processing (Premium purchases only)
• Resend — transactional email delivery (license-key emails only)

We do not share data with advertisers.

Your rights

If you are in the EU/UK, under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete the data we hold about your device, and to object to processing. Because the device ID is the only link to your data, please include it in any request.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
